KDj Above is as unique a DJ name as is his approach to the craft. Birthed in the crate-digging era, KDj is a true artist. A ten-year background in saxophone and percussion, a music lover of all genres, and master turntable skills separate this innovative DJ. Going on fifteen years strong as one of the most sought after DJ’s in the Denver area, KDj can cater to any crowd, any night and any place, solidifying his versatility and craft as one of the top DJs in Denver.

KDj Above was born in Nashville and lived in Southern California briefly before moving to Denver. Inspired by DJ Jamad, Rock Raida, Jazzy Jeff and Kid Capri, KDj was also heavily influenced by the film Juice, constantly comparing himself to the same nicknamed and deejaying protagonist “Q.” KDj is a battle DJ turned club turntablist who is keen on reading a crowd, taking them on a journey and transcending their minds.

When KDj Above is not behind the decks, he is working out, engaging in self-improvement literature and reading about African-American history. Previously a radio DJ for KS 107.5, Above is currently a member of Colorado Commission and tours the country alongside Denver emcee Pries. A lover of all things art, KDj is beginning his journey back into the world of musical instruments and beat making.
